The Project
Electric City is a 104-unit mixed-use residential and retail community at the corner of State Street and Erie Boulevard in downtown Schenectady, New York. The building anchors the city's revitalized downtown core, within walking distance of Proctors Theatre, Bow Tie Cinemas and the State Street restaurant district, and minutes from Rivers Casino & Resort, Union College and the General Electric campus.
The community offers studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, including loft plans, with private balconies on most units, granite counters, stainless appliances and full-size in-unit laundry. Resident amenities are concentrated on the rooftop and courtyard: a rooftop BBQ and picnic area, sundeck, bocce court and pet area, plus a clubhouse lounge, community kitchen, 24-hour fitness center, package room, elevator and covered parking. Ground-floor retail and restaurant space activates the State Street frontage.
Prime Companies developed the project and delivered it in 2019, and has owned and managed it since completion, operating on-site leasing and maintenance and offering furnished short-term units through its Prime Corporate Apartments division.
