The Project
Hudson Square is a 165-unit luxury apartment community at 1000 Hudson Square in Cohoes, New York. The site sits on Van Schaick Island at the confluence of the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers, directly adjacent to Van Schaick Country Club and across the street from Van Schaick Park, roughly ten minutes from downtown Troy and twenty from Albany.
Prime Companies developed the community ground-up and delivered it in 2017. It was designed as a resort-style rental product for the Capital Region market, with an amenity package that is uncommon at this scale in the submarket:
- Outdoor swimming pool and sundeck
- Putting green
- Tennis and basketball courts
- Landscaped pond with fountain
- Direct proximity to an 18-hole private golf course and a public waterfront park
Since completion the asset has remained in Prime’s portfolio under Prime’s own property management, giving the company full visibility into leasing, operations and capital planning from delivery through stabilization to today.
